Once you know your purpose it becomes easy to find the best book. Here, we need such books that help in writing answers in the JPSC mains exam. But, a single book may not be sufficient for a single subject. While creating your own book list for JPSC mains you must keep a few things in your mind. First, we have many books for a single subject. But, we are not robots. In short, neither it is practical nor required to read all the books on a subject. We don’t need to master the subject. Second, always have just one base book and just one side book. Third, your base book must have the majority of your syllabus.

JPSC Mains book list in English

From the list of base books and side books, choose only one book as a base and one book as a side book (depending on your understanding). The preferred base book is the 1st book in the list. Also, you may choose only one base book and for a side book, you may refer to the books offered in any university course. At some places ‘guide’ has been mentioned. There one can use any guide of their choice (e.g. Prabhat, Spardha, Shivangan, Drishti, TMH, etc).

Students usually find it very difficult to get the authentic book list for the exam. This is a very tried and tested list. There are many other good books on the market. If you have prepared from any other book or source, please stick to it. Don’t change your source. You need to only focus on the missing topics. Also, maybe you cannot get all the topics in the above books. But, you will get 95% of the syllabus in the above books. So, it is always better to revise the maximum portion maximum times; instead of preparing the complete portion in less time.
